سورة 28 القصص, آية 78
-
قَالَ إِنَّمَا أُوتِيتُهُ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عِنْدِي ۚ أَوَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ أَنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَهْلَكَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِ مِنَ الْقُرُونِ مَنْ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُ قُوَّةً وَأَكْثَرُ جَمْعًا ۚ وَلَا يُسْأَلُ عَنْ ذُنُوبِهِمُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ

- He said,
- إِنَّمَآ
- "Only
- أُوتِيتُهُۥ
- I have been given it
- عَلَىٰ
- on (account)
- عِلْمٍ
- (of) knowledge
- عِندِىٓ
- I have."
- أَوَلَمْ
- Did not
- يَعْلَمْ
- he know
- أَنَّ
- that
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- قَدْ
- indeed
- أَهْلَكَ
- destroyed
- مِن
- before him
- قَبْلِهِۦ
- before him
- مِنَ
- of
- ٱلْقُرُونِ
- the generations
- مَنْ
- who
- هُوَ
- [they]
- أَشَدُّ
- (were) stronger
- مِنْهُ
- than him
- قُوَّةً
- (in) strength
- وَأَكْثَرُ
- and greater
- جَمْعًا
- (in) accumulation.
- وَلَا
- And not
- يُسْـَٔلُ
- will be questioned
- عَن
- about
- ذُنُوبِهِمُ
- their sins
- ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ
- the criminals.
He said, "I was only given it because of knowledge I have." Did he not know that Allah had destroyed before him of generations those who were greater than him in power and greater in accumulation (of wealth)? But the criminals, about their sins, will not be asked.
